Answer

Joomla 1.5.x

There are probably many ways you could 'get' a blank page on your Joomla front page. I was editing one of the language files under VirtueMart i.e. english.php file using Filezilla. It's located at yoursite/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/languages/common/english.php. Of course, there are many other language files under different sub-folders. What happen was, while 'saving' - uploading the edited file to the web host - something must have happened and the file was not saved completely. It was only saved half-way. There was no indication whatsoever that the file was not saved completely.

When I refreshed the site, it was totally blank and white (in Firefox that is; in IE, there's a message stating 'Internal Server Error')! It took me the longest time to find out that the said language file was not saved properly!

How to solve this? Upload a full language file and overwrite the offending file! Obviously you need the original complete file to do that! Cool

Cheers!
